Ms. Katherine Buhse

Katherine BuhseMrs. Buhse is beginning her 35th year as an educator in special education. She is now in her 23rd year at Atlee High School as senior teacher for special education.

She began her special education teaching career at William Floyd High School in Mastic, New York in 1986–1992 as a special education teacher. From 1993–2001, Mrs. Buhse taught in Clayton County, Georgia as a special education teacher and department chairperson at Adamson Middle and Lovejoy Middle School. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2001.

Mrs. Buhse earned a bachelor’s degree in education from CW Post College. She was a recipient of graduate fellowship for her master’s degree in special education from CW Post College. She received a post master’s certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University in educational leadership.

All of her three sons graduated from Lee-Davis High School in Hanover County, and she currently resides in Hanover County with her husband Eddie.
