Hanover County Model Congress

United States Capitol BuildingWelcome to students, parents, teachers and friends!

Hanover County Model Congress (HCMC) is a student-run Model Congress designed to give local middle school and high school students a hands-on opportunity to learn about government processes and to practice public speaking skills. Students will serve as delegates and chairs in the student House and Senate. The main goal is for students to learn by doing and have fun while learning. Each student delegate will serve on one committee and discuss its two issues during the event. Business dress is encouraged.
