Art Guild

The Art Guild sitting on the steps of The Met in New York City

**For the 2020–2021 school year, Art Guild is suspended. We hope to reinstate this club in fall 2021. If a student is interested in portfolio development, art-based community service, or further art making, please reach out to your teacher.**

Art Guild is open to all past and current art students. If any student has taken a visual arts class at anytime at Atlee High School, they are welcome to join Art Guild. Member dues are $7.

We collect dues between the first week of school until our first club meeting. You must be a part of one of our clubs to attend our annual New York City or Washington, D.C. field trips.

If you cannot make a meeting then attend one of our sponsored events around town to earn your hours. Meeting dates will be shared through our Schoology group page.

Art Guild is an open studio environment where students can work on current assignment or work on their own artwork. There may also be art guild community/art projects, but generally, it is a time to mix and mingle with other students who are not in your class, collaborate, and make art!

We ask that students document their hours in Art Guild by signing in and out each time. Students must attend at least three meetings by the end of 1st semester to be in our club picture for the yearbook.

Atlee Crest and Shield

Starting with the opening of Atlee High School in 1991, visual arts students have been in charge of painting Atlee’s crest and shield flags for each graduating class. The flag is presented to the senior class, displayed at the podium during the graduation ceremony, then displayed in the commons.

Since 2015, Art Guild members (seniors only) have submitted their flag designs, and the senior class within the club votes on the winning design.
