Dr. Brown joined Raider Nation in 2016 after serving the Pearson’s Corner Elementary School community as their school counselor for 12 years. Dr. Brown received her bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College in 2002, her master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004, and her Ph.D. in educational leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011.
Dr. Brown is now in her 3rd year as the director of school counseling and seventh year overall here at AHS. She has immensely enjoyed serving in a variety of roles supporting the 12th grade as well as on the Counseling Advisory Committee, co-chairing the senior awards and Scholarship Committee, and working with all grade levels. It was also during this time that the AHS Counseling Department was identified as a RAMP certified program.
Dr. Brown resides in Mechanicsville with her son Berkley.
