Online Course Considerations:

With help from your school counselor and parents, students should consider the following questions?

  • Am I self-motivated and disciplined? Students should be prepared to devote as much time to the online course as would be expected in a face-to-face course. (three to five hours per day).
  • Am I receptive to information through written or visual context as opposed to spoken communication with an instructor?
  • Am I able to self-advocate and troubleshoot to get my academic and technological needs met?
  • Do I have consistent access to the internet and a reliable laptop/desktop?

As an online summer school student, it is the family's responsibility to have access to reliable, high-speed internet to be successful. A Chromebook will be provided by HCPS.
