Mr. Chowhan enters the 2025–2026 school years as our new senior teacher. Mr. Chowhan has been an integral part of the Atlee faculty for the past three years as an exceptional social studies teacher. For the last two years, he has also served as chair of the AHS Continuous School Improvement Team, where he has demonstrated strong leadership, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to advancing student achievement and school growth.
Before joining the Atlee community, Mr. Chowhan spent nine years at Indian River High School, where he taught a variety of social studies courses and served as both the student activities coordinator and student council sponsor. His extensive experience in both instruction and student engagement make him a valuable asset to our leadership team.
Mr. Chowhan has completed administrative internships with the Chesapeake Public Schools at their central office, as well as Virginia Wesleyan University, Indian River High School, Indian River Middle School, and Cedar Road Elementary School.
Mr. Chowhan holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Wesleyan University and a master’s degree from Old Dominion University.
