PHHS LogoDear PHamily,

We have received several inquiries this morning regarding a possible safety concern at PHHS that is circulating on social media. Please note that the social media post in question references “PHHS” and originated in and is directed at Patrick Henry High School or PHHS in Roanoke, not our school. We have confirmed that this is being investigated by Roanoke authorities. Please know that there is no threat to Patrick Henry High School here in Ashland. Students and staff are safe, there is no cause for alarm, and we are continuing with the instructional day as normal.

In the event of a credible and immediate safety concern, we would follow our well-established safety plan, which includes alerting all staff and families via all of our communications platforms to notify you as quickly, accurately, and responsibly as possible once safety measures have been taken inside the school and information can be verified.

I hope this information is helpful and addresses any concerns you may have. While this is an unfortunate distraction, we take these matters seriously, and we will continue to ensure our focus remains on providing a safe learning environment each and every day. Thank you for your continued support of our efforts in providing a safe environment for our outstanding students.

Sincerely,

Chris Martinez
Principal
Patrick Henry High School
