We are excited to welcome Mr. Dave Kannewurf back to Atlee as our director of student activities, effective July 1, 2025. From 2005–2015, Mr. Kannewurf served as the director of student activities right here in Raider Nation after serving in a variety of roles at Mechanicsville High School including teacher, coach, and assistant AD from 1995–2005. After briefly retiring from Hanover County in 2015, Dave served as the director of athletics at the Le Jardin Academy and the Kihei Charter School in Hawaii before eventually returning to Atlee as the interim director of student activities in the fall of 2023. He also served in the same capacity at Hanover High School in the spring of 2025.
Mr. Kannewurf holds a bachelor's degree from Central Methodist University, and is a certified athletic administrator through the NIAAA.
