A Message from Our President
Dear Atlee Band Family,
Welcome to the Atlee High School Bands! On behalf of the entire Atlee High School Band Booster Board, I invite you to become an active participant in the booster program. You might be wondering why we have a band boosters program.
We have a competitive marching band, an advanced concert band, daring jazz ensembles, fabulous student assembled and led groups, and an amazing wind ensemble. It is expensive to manage and maintain a band program that is as active as Atlee’s. To keep the high quality of these groups moving forward, we are blessed with a talented director of bands and staff. The boosters are able to help financially by offsetting related expenses for music, instruments, transportation, and uniforms, among other things.
Hopefully now that you know why we have a boosters program, you are wondering what you can do to be a part of the fun! The first thing to do is become a member of the Band Boosters. It would be marvelous if we had 100% participation in the boosters program. The next thing is volunteer. There are many opportunities to volunteer. You can be a part of our fund-raising activities. You can help with concessions at a football game. You can chaperone events including competitions. Be a part of the pit crew. These are just a few ways that you can be a part of this wonderful program.
We are proud of our students. We have been fortunate to be able to help in many ways over the years. Being an active part of this organization allows us as parents to be a part of what can be a transformative experience for many of our children. This time in high school goes quickly, and volunteering is just one way we can support our children and the entire program. I encourage everyone to find something that works for you. You may think it insignificant, but every contribution – financial, time, or talent – is important and appreciated.
The board and I look forward to working with you all to make this another great year for our band program. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to any member of the board. Welcome to Raider Country!
Kevin Barger
